How to Play Klondike Solitaire

Answers for new and returning players: setup, basic moves, no-download play, and large print controls.

How do you play Klondike Solitaire?

Build the seven columns downward in alternating red and black colors. Move aces to the four home piles, then build each suit upward from ace to king.

How do you set up Solitaire?

Klondike starts with seven columns. The first column has one card, the second has two, and each next column has one more card. Only the top card in each column starts face up.

Can I play Solitaire online with no download?

Yes. Large Solitaire runs in the browser, does not require an account, and saves the current game on this device.

Is drag and drop required?

No. The game is tap-to-move first: tap a card, then tap the column or home pile where it should go.

What does Show Move do?

Show Move highlights one useful next step. It does not move the card for you, so you can still decide whether to make the move.

What does Auto Home do?

Auto Home only moves cards to the Home piles when they already fit. If no Home move is ready, Large Solitaire highlights a useful next step instead.
